I know Igor Mitric Lavovski from my work at the Institute of Buildings and Energy at TUGraz back in 2016. He did some very interesting research on the parametric energy optimisation of building designs in the Rhino/Grasshopper environment there, which lead to unexpected and unorthodox geometries and design solutions. I experienced him as a very intelligent, creative and dedicated person who doesn’t shy away from complex questions and challenging tasks.
1 Igor Mitric Lavovski is a former student of mine. He completed his master thesis entitled “Sky Roller” under my
supervision in 2012. The topic was a skyscraper, designed as a hyper-dense three dimensional vertical city
based on sustainable principles in the large overpopulated slum area of Dharavi in Mumbai. Using innovative parametric design techniques, which were much less common amongst students then than they are now, Igor
wrote scripts for Grasshopper to support an evolutionary process and optimize the design for sun and wind.
He quickly grasped the principles of energy efficient architectural design and was eager to learn and develop
skills combining parametric computer based design with energy analysis.
